HG Plus is launching the JobWing Fortune 500 Career Workshop @ UCSB. We invite leaders in different industries from finance, film and television to hotels, tech and legal consulting to attend our workshops and share their advice with you. The purpose of this program is to enable students to communicate with experts from various industries in person, and get their career questions answered.

We will also be recruiting for current job openings from companies like Amazon, Riot Games, and The Grande Organization. Please bring your resume to the workshop.

Dan Kneece-Director of Photography

Dan Kneece has spent years creating amazing images. He started filming motion pictures at age 13 when his Mother bought a Super 8 camera. In 1979, while finishing his Master’s in Media Arts at the University of South Carolina, Dan began his professional career shooting news at WIS-TV in Columbia, SC. Soon thereafter he was taught Steadicam by inventor Garrett Brown which lead to a 28 year career as a Steadicam Operator and an ongoing professional relationship with Director David Lynch on films such as Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart and Mulholland Drive.

Dan’s skills evolved into expertise as an “A” Camera Operator on major film, television, commercial and music video productions. He worked with the best in the business and learned from them all. Dan now uses his knowledge, extensive film making experience and incredible eye to excel in his work as Director of Photography.

Cynthia D. Brittain-Senior Fiduciary Relationship Manager

Cynthia D. Brittain is the Senior Fiduciary Relationship Manager at Northern Trust for the Santa Barbara Region. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Ms. Brittain served as Counsel at McKenna, Long & Aldridge, LLP in Los Angeles, California where she focused her practice on domestic and international estate and tax planning.

Ms. Brittain also served as Counsel with the international law firm Withers, in its London, Hong Kong, and Geneva offices. She focused primarily on international cross border planning for large global families and their wealth transfer strategies.

Ms. Brittain began her legal career as a prosecutor in San Diego where she chaired the Financial Crimes committee. Ms. Brittain has studied in Moscow, Quebec, and Paris. She received her LL.M (Master of Laws) degree in Taxation from The University of San Diego and holds a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.

Yijie “Eva” Yang-Experienced Associate Attorney Specialized on llegal immigration investigation and prosecution

Yijie “Eva” Yang is an associate attorney of Wolfsdorf Rosenthal LLP. She practices in the area of EB-5 investment-based visa petitions. Ms. Yang has experience in investor, company transfer and professional work visa applications, as well as with family-based immigration.

Ms. Yang earned her LL.M. degree from UCLA School of Law in 2014, where she volunteered for their DACA clinic and conducted research on refugee’s work rights. Ms. Yang has also worked as an immigration officer in China for eight years. Her specialization was illegal immigration investigation and prosecution.

Bolun “Kevin” Gu-China Telecom Americas Western Area Mobile Sales Department Manager 

Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in math and economics from University of California, Santa Barbara.

He was the head of UCSB Chinese Student and Scholar Association public relations department; organized the very first Chinese student job fair in 2015; published poem on Vagabond Multilingual Literary Journal, a multilingual college journal of University of California, in both Chinese and English.

Kevin is now also the vice president of South West Chinese Students and Scholars Association. He was responsible for the 2015 SWCSSA Mid-Autumn festival fair, 2016 California-China Forum, 2016 SWCSSA Mid-Autumn Evening Party, 2017 California-China Forum public relations affair. Kevin started his career with China Telecom as a mobile service business development intern in 2015, and became the top sales later that year, also received the Best Business Development Award from China Telecom Americas Corp. In 2016, Kevin served as assistant manager of mobile business department of west region; currently, he is the West Regional Manager of China Telecom Americas Corp Mobile Business Department
